If both a child's parents are allergic to penicillin, is it likely that the child is too?

My son has had a stubborn ear infection for the past 3 weeks, poor little guy. But as I was reading the pamphlet that came with the augmentin the doctor prescribed him, it says that people with allergies to PCN need to be wary when taking this medication. Any thoughts on the likelihood that my child would be allergic to the same medication that his father and I are?? Thanks in advance for your advice and God Bless.
