Does this short story have a clear lesson? What is it?

There was a few scenes of symbolism. The kid wants the real deal about love, he doesn't want somebody that blinds him, taking him off the path of life, yet he wants her. He wants to guide them to safety. It felt like a moving beginning to a magnificent story. Keep writing. You're doing an amazing job.
